Intense clashes in Ramadi between Iraqi forces and ISIS

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Iraqi armed forces repulsed an assault by the Islamic State group (ISIS) in the Jarais area of northern Ramadi, destroying several car bombs the militants had planned to use against the military, an officer told Rudaw on Tuesday.

“Iraqi forces were able to defeat an assault by the Islamic State in the area of Jarais in northern Ramadi, destroying four car bombs rigged with heavy explosives,” said the Iraqi army’s Brig Gen. Ismail Mahlawi.

Meanwhile, a Rudaw reporter in Ramadi added that warplanes from the US-led coalition had bombed two improvised car bombs in the area of Taamim in southwestern Ramadi.

Sources from the Anbar provincial council told Rudaw Tuesday that all ISIS supply lines into Ramadi  had been cut off, adding that the city is surrounded by forces loyal to the Iraqi government.

Some 10,000 Iraqi soldiers, policemen, militiamen of the Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi and tribal forces have been unsuccessfully fighting to clear Anbar province from ISIS since June. They have been unable to make any significant advances, with several assaults repulsed by the militants.

Army, Popular Forces Advance against ISIL West of Syria’s Palmyra
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) won key battles against ISIL terrorists in two key areas in the Western countryside of Palmyra (Tadmour) in Homs province after killing at least 25 militants, sources in Central Syria announced Tuesday.

The sources said that the pro-government forces broke through the ISIL militants’ defense lines in Tal Syriatel and Jabal Ma’ar and retook full control over these two important areas.

The Syrian forces are fortifying their position around the newly-recaptured areas to fend off the ISIL possible infiltration attempts.

 

 

On Sunday, the Russian helicopters targeted the ISIL positions West of ‎Palmyra, and killed tens of Takfiri terrorists.

Militants Withdraw from New Area in Syria’s Lattakia Province
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army and popular forces pushed back the militant groups from a strategic area near Ghamam town in the coastal province of Lattakia on Tuesday after killing and wounding scores of the terrorist.

The militants’ defense lines in Bakdash mountain came under attacks of the government forces, whose offensives was so heavy that caused the militants to retreat from the fighting area.

The mountainous area is now under full control of the Syrian forces.

 

 

The militant groups left behind tens of dead bodies and fled the battlefield.

Sources said on Monday that the Syrian army and popular forces continued to push back the terrorist groups from the Northern parts of Lattakia and entered the strategic village of Deir Hanna.

The pro-government forces, after fierce clashes with the militant groups and breaking through their defense lines this morning, entered Deir Hanna.

The militant groups reportedly suffered heavy death toll in the Syrian forces’ operation and retreated the remaining of forces from the battlefront.

In the meantime, a wide-scale assault of the Takfiri terrorists on the government forces’ positions near Ghamam town was repelled by the Syrian soldiers, in which tens of the militants were killed or wounded.

Syrian, Hezbollah Forces Determined to Lift Militants’ Siege on Fou’aa, Kafraya in Idlib
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters are resolved to end the several-month-long siege on Fou’aa and Kafraya as they have deployed forces just 17 km away from the two besieged towns, military sources said Tuesday.

The sources said that an ultimate goal for the army and Hezbollah is to capture the territory leading to Kafraya and Al-Fou’aa; and by doing so, they will no longer be at the mercy of the terrorist groups that use these two towns to threaten the pro-government forces with an attack on the civilian populous.

As of now, Hezbollah and their allies are approximately 17km away from Al-Fou’aa and only 11km from the militant stronghold of Taftanaz; if the aforementioned town is captured, the terrorist groups will be in serious trouble.

 

 

On Monday, at least 37 terrorists were killed in Syrian army operations in Idlib province as the troops continue to tighten noose on the militants in several areas across the country.

 

 

At least 17 Takfiri militants of al-Nusra Front were killed during an army operation against terrorists’ positions in al-Tama’a town to the South of Idlib city, field sources said Sunday.

The army also killed at least 20 terrorists during military operations against the militants’ ammunition distribution center and positions in the Northern parts of Maaret al-Numan.

Homs Village Recaptured by Syrian Troops
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army troops purged ISIL Takfiri militants from a strategic village in the Central Province of Homs on Tuesday.

The army regained full control of al-Hadath village in the Southeastern countryside of Homs, field sources said.

 

 

A large group of terrorists were killed and injured in the military operation. The Syrian troops are advancing towards the village of Hawareen, Maheen town and al-Qaryatin town, the sources added.

Syrian Forces Enter Key Village in Aleppo
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army entered the village of Humaymah Al-Kabeera in Aleppo province after fierce clashes with Takfiri terrorists on Tuesday.

Field sources said the Syrian forces have entered the village of Humaymah Al-Kabeera after clashes with Takfiri terrorists at its Western entrance.

There were no more details available.

 

 

On Monday, the Syrian army, the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters and the National Defense Forces liberated a key village in Aleppo province from terrorists’ control, completely securing the entire region surrounding the Kuweires military airbase.

The Syrian forces and Hezbollah fighters took full control over the village of Kaskays in the Eastern countryside of Aleppo. Scores of Takfiri terrorists were killed in the military operation.
