OU students ask for Veterans Center

University of Oklahoma student veterans want a place to call home. They said a Veterans Center, like a USO, is long overdue.
UCO has a Veterans Center, and one is in the works at the University of Kansas, among many other universities.
“We need it now, not next year, not in five years,” said Taylor Kelling, a veteran and legislative/community affairs director for the OU Student Veterans Association.
Kelling also is the plans and programs chairman for the Undergraduate Student Congress.
The OU Student Veterans Association sent  a proposal to President David Boren, asking for a Veterans Center. However, Kelling said they’ve received little feedback on the time frame or necessary funding to complete a Veteran’s Center.
