We live in an era where information is literally at our fingertips to help us improve our finances. I recently Googled “budgeting” and I got about 55,600,000 results. If you struggle to stick to a budget, you can simply try out tools like Mint.com, YNAB,Mvelopes, and Yodlee. If you want to learn how to invest from the 293,000,000 Google results there, you can check out automated investment advisors like Betterment,Personal Capital or Wealthfront to build a portfolio that would make Warren Buffet proud.
Scared you may not be on track to retire? Never fear! There are 22,200,000 Google results on that topic and tools from websites like CNN, AARP and even the US Department of Labor to get you there.
The reality is that only about 1 in 3 people prepare a detailed household budget according to a 2013 Gallup poll. A GoBankingrates.com survey revealed that about 62% of people reported having under $1,000 in savings. Our own Year in Review: 2015research report found that only 22% of employees report being on track to reach their retirement goals.
