Southington Company Praised For Hiring Veterans

State officials on Tuesday toured the headquarters of an industrial metals supply company, where the lieutenant governor praised the firm for its emphasis on hiring veterans.
“I brought a little something to thank Yarde Metals for all you’ve been doing,” Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman said prior to presenting Yarde officials with a proclamation. Wyman and the state’s commissioners for veteran affairs, labor and economic development then toured the company.
Wyman said Yarde is setting an example of how employers can benefit by considering the nation’s military veterans when seeking workers.
