Today the US-led coalition is apparently going to another war. The civilizational catastrophe plotted in the Middle East would by far exceed everything experienced by the US Army and their families at homes before.

Although the wars are drawing down, the deployment schedules for our men and women in uniform aren’t easing up. Troops continue to meet multiple operational needs, such as theater security exercises with partner nations, Navy ship cruises and other training requirements.
More than 6,500 miles from the Pacific Northwest, the arid heat of southern Afghanistan is almost the complete opposite of the damp, cool weather of Monroe, Wash.
At 3:30 AM on 27 July 2011, heavily armed and masked Israeli Forces hurled blocks of stone into several windows of the Freedom Theatre in Jenin Refugee Camp and arrested two men. Juliano Mer-Khamis, established the Freedom Theater in 2006 and was murdered outside of it on 4 April 2011. I never made it to the Freedom Theatre, but I did spend a day in Jenin Camp on 23 July 2007.
April is Confederate Memorial Month where various commemorations held throughout the month, primarily in the South. In the other states I would venture to say that most have never even heard of it, a combination performance of historical revisionism, political correctness, and amnesia. But I am happy to report that we are seeing more events being held each year,and better attended.
Many contributors to Veterans Today may not have an understanding of members of the Armed Forces – particularly career Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and CoastGuardsmen. (Also derisively referred to as Lifers!) I have a blue retiree I.D. card. Guess I qualify as a Lifer.
