So far these 34 Deaths in November 2010 and the one from October included we want to continue to remember them and their survivors. We have no data if any or all or a part of these were receiving Disability from the VA or were rated service connected. We do not know if the VA even has all of these recorded because some died for sure with no VA Rating, No VA C file, etc. or are never seen by the VA. This list presenting for honor today continues to number 35 . Well over one a day gulf war veterans 90-91 are dying. These are historical data that shows as Mr Perot said the largest post war morbidity/mortality to date.

The article quotes Elizabeth McGlynn, associate director of Rand Health, a division of the Rand Corp., in Santa Monica , Calif. , who co-authored a comparative study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in 2004 that found the VA outperformed its community health-care counterparts by 20 percentage points in preventive care. It also performed significantly better on chronic disease care and in overall quality.

The gulf war veterans have been fighting for help with their illnesses due to their service since Operation Desert Storm, and still today with Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Southwest Asia was and still is one of the most toxic places for a service member on deployment. We have been coming home from the gulf sick, and not getting any real help from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

HUD To Provide Permanent Housing To Nearly 8,000 Homeless Veterans

WASHINGTON - U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan announced today that nearly 8,000 homeless veterans will get permanent housing assistance through a HUD rental assistance program that connects homeless veterans from local Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC) with rental assistance vouchers provided by local public housing agencies. HUD's Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH) will provide local public housing agencies with $58.6 million in funding specifically targeted to assist homeless veterans in their area.

Officials of the Social Security Income office in Massachusetts told a veteran who applied for help that he would have to quit his job before they could assess his eligibility for funding, two law school professors say. “But he was afraid to quit because he would have insufficient money to exist,” wrote Michael Coyne and Diane Sullivan of the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover in the Lowell, Mass., Sun.

I recently watched Frontline's television documentary called The Wounded Platoon, an investigation that researched the lives of infantrymen after returning home from war in Iraq. The soldiers of Ft. Carson's 3rd Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry came home from war with psychiatric disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, known as PTSD. The story was more than troubling — it was heartbreaking.

Lost A Leg In Iraq, All But Forgotten At Home

If the Army needs proof that Ryan Hallberg suffered a loss when he was injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq, it need look no farther than 4 inches below his right knee. There's nothing there. Despite an amputation from his injuries, Hallberg has twice been denied a $50,000 insurance benefit because he has been told by the federal insurance office administering the program that "there is not enough medical information to support your loss."
