GOP CALLS FOR "ARMED RESISTANCE" TOO EASILY MISUNDERSTOOD
"TERRORIST VET" WARNINGS PARTIALLY TRUE BUT MISREPRESENTED

After a humiliating disaster at the polls during the last election, the Republican party splintered into centerists and right wing extremists.
The latter, under the tenuous leadership of talk show host Rush Limbaugh and using Fox News as their organizing and communications group, has begun moving down a road that may lead to more terrorist incidents like the two recent terrorst murder, of of a former Naval officer and one by a former Naval officer.
Big talk, scare tactics and constant talk of threats, all to raise bucks is going to lead to more unbalanced people committing acts of senseless murder in the name of patriotism defined by blowhards and media demagogues.
With reports of white supremist organizations pushing their members into joining our military for weapons training and groups like www.resist.com, financed by major defense contractors calling for insurrection (Stolen Patriotism, the Phony Resistance Movement Uncloaked), more violence like the Oklahoma City bombing is expected. Some extremist vets are being viewed as a threat, some, not all.
With fundraising, really building a "political war chest" at the heart of motivation, scare tactics of every kind are being used to raise money from tobacco, defense and insurance groups threatened by renewed government accountability along with grass roots contribution.
These "grass roots" contributions are the problem. The tactics being used are claims of socialist, communist and even Nazi ties to the Obama administration and the groups targeted for funds are political extremists, racists and anti-Semites, in particular the "holocaust denial" and "armed militia" groups.
Scare tactic funding started with the NRA. Constant calls to send in money to fight "anti-gun" laws, often misrepresented, totally invented or written by NRA friends themselves, are used to raise millions to enrich Washington fatcats who run the NRA and live off donations from members who are terrified by these constant warnings.
Now everyone does this, from the Democrats to MoveOn to Acorn and even the Republicans, although they don’t have the potential due to very small party membership and lack of a credible message.
More serious recently, however, were the warnings by Homeland Security that veterans could be a danger. With a public already misled for years about foreign terrorists, any claims that members of our military may be tied to terrorism is very damaging.
However, we have well established ties between a small minority of soldiers and armed groups advocating the overthrow of the US government. This we know is true. Announcing this fact to the public, however, is insane.
The military knew they were taking in neoNazi volunteers but recruiters turned a blind eye. Instead, the Nazi tattoos only had to be covered up.
Then Nazi "tagging" became a problem at our bases around the world. Rather than seeing the real danger, the military saw it as a ‘painting problem.’
The recent warnings of veterans with ties to domestic terrorist groups are well founded, not for vets in general, however. That part was pure stupidity. We do have veterans who should have never been allowed in the military who are returning, trained for domestic terrorism and influenced by the insane rhetoric of Fox News and others.
With a new administration inheriting corrupt and bloated customs, FBI, Justice and Homeland Security bureaucracies aided by a dozen unregulated spy agencies, many illegally operating thru the US itself, renewed domestic terrorism could only make disassembling the totalitarian nightmare of the Bush/Cheney/Ashcroft/Gonzles intimidation and torture machinery that more difficult.
