Provinces, SANA- Units of the army and the armed forces on Thursday continued to launch wide-scale military operations against the Takfiri terrorist organizations across the country, killing scores of their members and destroying their arms and vehicles.

Al-Zabadani, Damascus Countryside

The army air force carried out on Thursday a series of air strikes on various positions of terrorists in al-Zabadani city, located to the northwest of Damascus, a military source said.

Many terrorists were killed in the air strikes, which are coordinated with other military operations carried out in cooperation with the Lebanese Resistance to eliminate the terrorist organizations in the city, according to the source.

The air strikes also resulted in destroying a cannon, a rocket launcher and an ammunition depot for the terrorist organizations as the targets were hit.

The army and the Lebanese Resistance are advancing on various areas in al-Zabadani after they announced last Saturday a military operation there to eliminate terrorist organizations fortified in the city.

They have so far taken control of al-Tal Citadel and al-Sultani and al-Jamiyat neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city.

 Quneitra

Dens and vehicles of terrorist organizations, linked with the Israeli enemy, were destroyed in special army operations in Teloul Al- Homor and Taranja village in the southern province of Quneitra.

Daraa

In the neighboring Daraa province, an army unit carried out concentrated strikes against positions of Jabhat al-Nusra and other Takfiri organizations on the road linking al-Jeeza and Al-Mseifra in the northeastern countryside.

A rocket launcher and a cannon-equipped armored vehicle were destroyed in the strikes and a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured.

An army unit also killed all members of a terrorist group in Um al-Mayathen village.

Meanwhile a number of terrorists were killed in a special operation carried out by an army unit against one of their positions to the west of al-Jame’a al-Akhdar in al-Noaima town.

Heavy losses were also inflicted upon terrorist organizations in strikes carried out by army units against their dens and positions in Inkhil and Jasem in the northwestern countryside of the province.

Homs

In central Syria, an army unit thwarted an ISIS attack on al-Maqale’ area in the eastern countryside of Palmyra in Homs province.

Hama

In the neighboring Hama province, numbers of terrorists were killed in a series of army air strikes on their
hideouts in al-Hweijeh, al-Hawash, Atshan and al-Latamneh in the countryside.

Idleb

The army air force destroyed terrorists’ dens and vehicles, killing a number of them, in al-Baragiti, Khsheir and Kafr Nubol in the countryside of the northern Idleb province.

Iraqi MP Reveals Al-Baghdadi’s Last Minute Escape from Assassination Attempt
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iraqi lawmaker disclosed details of a plan to assassinate the ISIL’s leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his escape in the last moments.

“An intelligence force affiliated to the Iraqi government was due to carry out the assassination plan on Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the ISIL leader, in Mosul, the capital city of Nineveh province,” Nahlah al-Hababi told FNA on Wednesday.

“The Iraqi intelligence forces staged unique operations to assassinate Baghdadi but he fled the scene in the last minutes,” she added.

The London-based Guardian newspaper had reported in May that Baghdadi remains incapacitated due to suspected spinal damage and is being treated by two doctors who travel to his hideout from the group’s stronghold of Mosul two months after being injured in a US air strike in Northwestern Iraq.

Three sources close to the ISIL confirmed that Baghdadi’s wounds could mean he would never again lead the terrorist group.

Turkmen Army, Ankara’s New Weapon to Fight against Syrian Kurds
TEHRAN (FNA)- Turkey has started forming an army of the Turkmen population of Syria, claiming that it aims to protect the population against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Turkey is concerned about the empowerment of Kurdish forces in Northern Syria and plans to recruit the Turkmen forces to form a Turkmen army in the Arab country, Turkey’s Anadolu news agency reported.

The Turkish government ordered the two groups of Turkmen Council of Syria and Turkmen Armed Forces to start forming the army under the pretext of protection against the YPG danger.

Tuesday media reports also said that Turkey has redeployed part of its army behind Syria’s borders to help the terrorist group take control of Aleppo.

“Threats and military movements by Turkey near the Syrian borders is aimed at rendering help to the al-Nusra Front to conquer Aleppo,” the Arabic-language Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported.

The newspaper wrote that all pro-Turkey terrorist groups, specially the Al-Nusra Front and its allies, are in the same boat with Ankara to attack Aleppo as they supported attacks on Idlib and Jisr al-Shaghour.

On Tuesday, the Syrian army intensified its offensives on the Takfiri terrorist groups in the Western parts of Aleppo.

The bloody clashes between the army and Ansar al-Sharia coalition comprising 13 terrorist groups led by the Al-Nusra Front left tens of militants dead and dozens more injured.

The clashes erupted after the Al-Nusra Front a suicide bomber intended to explode a bomb-laden vehicle in Jamiat al-Zahra district of Aleppo, but the Syrian army prevented the suicide bomber from accomplishing his mission.

A large number of terrorists were killed and many more injured during the Monday clashes, including Riyaz Abid who was commander of Nur Eddin Zanki Takfiri terrorist group.

Syrian Forces, Hezbollah Continue Advance into Zabadani
 TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian troops and fighters of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah continued advance in their offensive into the border town of Zabadani on Wednesday.

The army and Hezbollah forces’ joint operations continued for the fifth consecutive day in Zabadani in Reef (countryside of) Damascus from several directions and they could free 15 blocks in al-Zohrah district in the Northwestern part of the town.

They also killed tens of terrorists and wounded scores of others during their clashes with the militants.

Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV reported Monday that fighters of the group, backed by Syrian troops, are advancing into Central parts of Zabadani to purge the militants from the last positions they held inside the city.

The report said the allied forces seized control of residential areas in the al-Sultani district South of Zabadani while they are progressing to control the Al-Huda Mosque neighborhood.

Lebanese sources said Hezbollah fighters are closing in on militants trapped in Central Zabadani, pouring fire on them from every side.

Militants suffered heavy casualties in clashes that erupted Sunday in various parts of Zabadani. Fighting also raged overnight Monday when Syrian fighter jets pounded the positions of militants in Al-Jamaiyat neighborhood, West of the city.

At least four Hezbollah fighters and several Syrian troops have reportedly been killed in the battle on Zabadani, a strategic border town located 50 kilometers Northwest of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The offensive is part of a wider operation launched by Syria and Hezbollah since May 4, which has reportedly driven militants out of more than 90 percent of the territory previously controlled by them in mountainous Qalamoun region.

The highly strategic area, which straddles the Lebanese-Syrian border, was previously used by the al-Nusra Front militants for transferring weapons and ammunition into Syria, where they have been involved in terrorist activities.

Syrian Army Advances against Terrorists in Tadmur
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army forces started advancing in the Central city of Tadmur on Wednesday, retaking control of a strategic hill.

Al-Mayadeen reported on Wednesday that the Syrian army units have taken an area 11km in depth and 18km in width in Tadmur city in Homs province.

The security forces also regained control of the strategic al-Marmaleh hill near al-Bayarat district.

Also on Tuesday, Syrian Kurdish fighters took more than 10 villages North of Raqqa city from the ISIL terrorists.

At least 78 ISIL terrorists were killed since Sunday night, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

But, on Tuesday, the terrorist group was still in control of Ain Issa, the Britain-based Observatory said. The town, 50 km (30 miles) North of Raqqa city, was seized by ISIL terrorists from the Kurdish YPG forces in an attack on Monday.

The Observatory said YPG forces regained control of 11 villages Northeast of Ain Issa.

The YPG has made significant gains against ISIL in Raqqa province in recent weeks, seizing Tel Abyad at the Turkish border on June 15 before advancing South to Ain Issa.

The YPG captured Ain Issa on June 23.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.

Syria in Last 24 Hours: Terrorist Ringleader Killed in Aleppo
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army killed a commander of Nur Eddin Zanki Takfiri terrorist group in Aleppo province, Northern Syria.

Reports from Aleppo said that the Syrian army intensified its offensives on the Takfiri terrorist groups in the Western parts of the city.

Also in the part 24 hours, two senior ISIL leaders fighting against the government forces in Deir Ezzur province, Eastern Syria, fled to neighboring Turkey after stealing a large sum of cash from the Takfiri terrorist group’s treasury.

“Ons al-Motlaq and Ahmed Rahoum fled to Turkey from Deir Ezzur after stealing large amounts of cash from the ISIL treasury,” a local source said.

The Syrian army targeted hideouts of terrorists of al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups in Hreitan town, located on Aleppo-Turkey road, the main arms and ammunition supply line for terrorists, leaving a group of the Takfiri militants dead and injured.

A number of terrorists were also killed and their weapons and vehicles were destroyed in al-Mansoura village and in the vicinity of the Scientific Research Center.

The army also inflicted heavy losses on terrorists in al-Atareb and Khan al-Assal at the Southwestern countryside of Aleppo.
