TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance fighters drove terrorists out of more than half a dozen strategic areas in the countryside of Damascus.

The army units and the resistance forces took back 8 regions in the countryside of Zabadani in Damascus province, Southern Syria.

The Syrian troops are advancing in al-Jamheyat neighborhood of Zabadani.

Also in the past 24 hours, the two main rival Takfiri terrorist groups, the ISIL and the Al-Nusra Front, asked the Syrian army to allow them to safely withdraw from several areas in Southern Damascus.

The ISIL and Al-Nusra Front groups called on the Syrian army to allow them retreat their forces and military hardware from al-Hajar al-Aswad and al-Tazamon towns as well as the Palestinian Yarmouk refugee camp.

“These two Takfiri terrorist groups have once again demanded for withdrawal from their positions in Damascus countryside after their conditions deteriorated,” Khalid Abdul Majid told the Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper.

Several groups of militants have surrendered to the Syrian army in the Damascus Countryside in the last several months. The last one of such groups gave in to the authorities in the region in mid February.

Meantime, the Syrian army and Lebanese Hezbollah resistance forces cut the defense lines of the terrorists in the town of Zabadani in Southern Syria, surrounding them in a small area of two square kilometers.

According to FNA dispatches, the terrorists of the Al-Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham are now under a full siege in Zabadani.

The army units and Hezbollah forces, meantime, purged the terrorists from al-Shalah region.

Also, the Syrian army pounded the terrorists’ positions in al-Nabu and al-Mahta regions.

Elsewhere, scores of Takfiri militants were killed as Syrian air strikes targeted the terrorists’ positions in Lattakia.

At least 20 terrorists, including Turkish militants, were killed in a series of air raids in the Northern countryside of Lattakia, a military source said.

Meantime, the Syrian air strikes hit positions of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Homs province.

The air strikes destroyed vehicles belonging to the ISIL terrorists at the entrance of Wadi al-Masek to the East of Palmyra and the outskirts of al-Sukhne town in the Eastern countryside of Homs.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army seized back new areas in heavy clashes with Jeish al-Fath Takfiri terrorists in Idlib countryside.

The army units took control of the towns of Tal Hakma, Tal Awar and Marj al-Zahour in Idlib province, Northwestern Syria.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more injured in fierce clashes with the Syrian troops while a large number of them fled the scene.

Meantime, the military sources in the Central Syria said that dozens of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists were killed or wounded in the Syrian airstrike on their positions in the nearby areas of Palmyra.

The sources said that the Syrian fighter jets pounded the strongholds of the ISIL group in Jazal and East of al-Heer al-Gharbi castle near Palmyra in Homs province, which resulted in the killing and wounding of tens of terrorists.

Also, the Syrian warplanes bombed one of the main supply routes of the rebel groups in the Northern province of Aleppo.

Informed sources said that the Syrian Air Forces hit a long convoy of al-Nusra Front’s vehicles on one of the main supply route of the rebels near Bshantara and Kafr Dael in the Western part of the province.

The sources added that the rebel supply route was cut in the airstrike and several fighters were killed and injured.
