TEHRAN (FNA) – The Syrian and Iraqi forces’ advances supported by the Russian airstrikes have left just 34 bases for the ISIL in the two Arab countries, a media activist revealed on Saturday.

“At present, the ISIL only has 34 bases in Mosul, Raqqa, etc. which were many more in number,” Managing-Director of Iraq’s al-Nakhil news agency Mohammad Ali al-Hakim told FNA.

He underlined that the ISIL is a terrorist group which has been created by Israel, with Saudi Arabia and Qatar’s money and the US and other western states’ support, which has no goal but providing security to the Zionist regime.

Hakim, meantime, stressed that the ISIL is on the verge of collapse, and said, “The end of the ISIL which has been borne by the westerners is close.”

The Syrian and Iraqi army and popular forces have hit heavy blows at the ISIL terrorists in recent days.

Reports said on Wednesday and Thursday that the top leaders and commanders of the ISIL terrorist group had been witnessed escaping from the Syrian city of Raqqa after sustaining heavy casualties in the Russian airstrikes and long-range cruise missile attacks from its Mediterranean fleet.

Intelligence sources confirmed citizens’ reports on Thursday that militants’ leaders are fleeing the so-called capital of the ISIL terrorist group after hundreds of ISIL members escaped the city on Wednesday to save their lives.

Various sources from citizens of Raqqa to local villagers and intelligence sources have reported in the last 24 hours that the terrorist group has started hasty evacuation of Raqqa after the Russian strikers and long-range bombers intensifying airstrikes on the strongholds and command centers of the ISIL militants in Raqqa in recent days.

The Russian military has also been pounding the ISIL stronghold in Raqqa with cruise missiles fired from the Mediterranean Sea since Tuesday.

Meantime, reports disclosed on Wednesday that the ISIL terrorists retreated from the Southern parts of Hasakah province, located North of Raqq, as Syrian army and popular forces, backed by Russian and Syrian airstrikes, continue to strike heavy blows at the militants.

According to the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television, ISIL terrorists are moving their families and heavy weaponries from the city of al-Shadadi in the Southern countryside of Hasakah to Deir Ezzur.

Hasakah is a region in Northeastern Syria mostly populated by the Kurds. The Kurdish and Arab fighters have recently pushed the terrorists out of the Northern parts of the region.

Following similar heavy strikes in the Southern parts of the province by the Syrian forces, the ISIL terrorists were forced to retreat furthern to Raqqa, the so-called capital of the ISIL terrorist group. But after the start of heavy airstrikes by the Russian and French air forces in the last few days, the ISIL is again on the move to retreat further to deploy its central command in Deir Ezzur.

Russian Bombers Hit Jirah Airbase in Aleppo Province for First Time
TEHRAN (FNA) The Russian Air Force targeted the ISIL-held Jirah Airbase in the Eastern part of Aleppo province for the first time, battlefield sources announced on Saturday, a move that has reinvigorated speculations that the military base could be the next target of pro-government troops in the province.

The sources said that it was the first time since September 30 (the start of Russian air force’s aerial operation against terrorist positions in Syria) that the ISIL positions inside and outside of the Jirah airbase came under the heavy bombardments by the Russian fighter jets, which of course inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist group.

It seems that the Russian airstrikes on Jirah airbase will pave the ground for the pro-government forces to launch another massive ground operation to liberate the third key airbase in the country after Kuweires and Marj al-Sultan airbases in Aleppo and Damascus provinces respectively.

On November 15, the Syrian Army and popular forces completely pushed back the militant groups from Marj al-Sultan Airbase and its surroundings in the Eastern countryside of Damascus, scoring their second groundbreaking victory after lifting the ISIL siege of Kuweires airbase near Aleppo city in the same month.

Syrian Fighter Jets Target ISIL in Homs
TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian air force strikers staged an intensive raid on the positions of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in various areas across the Central Province of Homs, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.

On Friday, the Syrian airstrikes hit positions and movements of the ISIL terrorists East of Maheen town, in the vicinity of Hawarin and in al-Qaryatain city in Homs province. A number of the ISIL’s bases, vehicles, weapons, munitions and equipment were destroyed in the air raids. There were no immediate reports of possible casualties among ISIL ranks.

Reports said on Friday that the Syrian Army traced and targeted a long military column of ISIL terrorists near Maheen in Homs province, inflicting heavy losses on them. The ISIL militants suffered heavy death toll and their military vehicles, loaded with weapons and ammunition, were destroyed in the army attack.

The Syrian army and National Defense Forces made a rapid advance inside the strategic town of Maheen in Homs province hours after they entered the town on Thursday, locals said, adding that ISIL sent hundreds of fresh troops to the town after sustaining a heavy defeat.

The Syrian forces also killed and injured a large number of Takfiri terrorists in the military operations, while later reports said ISIL was determined to repel the Syrian forces’ assaults and sent reinforcements several hours after the attack to help to push back the Syrian army and its allies.

Hundreds of ISIL terrorists escaped Maheen after the Syrian army and National Defense Forces entered the strategic town after weeks of fierce clashes with the Takfiri terrorists.
