ISIL Trapped in Palmyra as Syrian Army Prepares for Final Attack on Ancient City

TEHRAN (FNA) – The Syrian Army, National Defense Forces and Hezbollah have advanced against the ISIL militants near al-Hayyal and have deployed their units in the Southern side of Palmyra in Homs province, adding that pro-government forces are readying to launch the final attack on the city from three directions.
 

This morning, the Syrian army’s 67th Brigade, in coordination with the 550th Regiment, the NDF of Homs, Hezbollah, and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), struck the ISIL defensive positions at al-Hayyal in the Southern side of Palmyra (Tadmur), killing several ISIL militants before advancing towards the Southern districts of this ancient city, sources said.

In addition to their advance at Al-Hayyal, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies captured more territory along the Homs-Deir Ezzur Highway that leads to Palmyra’s Western side; this has paved the way for them to push towards the Qatari Royal Family’s villa that is now used by the ISIL as a training base for their new recruits.

With their recent success on the Southern and Western flanks of Palmyra, the Syrian Armed Forces are now in a position to attack this ancient desert city from three different sides, while the Russian Air Force strikes the Palmyra Military Airport and the road leading to the East district.

Reports also said on Tuesday that ISIL has sent hundreds of fresh troops, weapons and equipment to the city in the last several days in anticipation of heavy battles with the Syrian army in a decisive war.

On Monday, the Russian MI-24 helicopters, in a joint operation with pro-government forces, targeted positions of the ISIL terrorists near Palmyra.

The Syrian army, the NDF fighters and the Lebanese Hezbollah combatants, backed up by the Russian military helicopters, stormed the ISIL concentration centers near Palmyra, which ended in destruction of the ISIL military grid and the killing or wounding of many of them.

Syrian Army Kills over 100 Terrorists Southern Aleppo
 
TEHRAN (FNA) The Syrian army continued their offensives against the terrorist groups in the province of Aleppo, killing tens of militants in heavy clashes on Tuesday. Over 100 Takfiri terrorists were killed in the Southern parts of the Aleppo province today, the Arabic-language Al-Mayadeen television reported.

The terrorists’ high fatalities came after they tried to prevent the Syrian army’s further advances in the Northern province by relocating their forces from the Northern parts of Aleppo province towards the Western and Southwestern parts of the province.

Earlier reports from Aleppo province said that the Syrian Army and its allies engaged in fierce clashes with the militant groups in the Southern part of Aleppo province, and pinned down the terrorists behind their defense lines.

The Syrian army, National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah fighters attacked the positions of al-Nusra Front and other Takfiri groups in Khan Touman region, Kherbet Ma’rata, al-Ameriyeh and Karm Azeeza villages, and killed large groups of the terrorists.

The pro-government forces’ attacks were so heavy that did not permit the militants to carry out counter-attack operation.

The Syrian Army on Tuesday launched a fresh round of anti-terrorism operations in different neighborhoods of Aleppo to hunt down more militants across the Northern city.

The Takfiri terrorists’ defense lines in al-Sheikh Lotfi, Bustan al-Qasr, Karm al-Jabal, Bustan al-Basha, al-Sheikh Khudr, Bani Zeid, al-Rashideen Arba’a and Salahuddin neighborhoods came under large-scale attacks of the Syrian army, which has thus far left scores of the terrorists dead or wounded.

Syrian Troops Hit Militants Hard in Dara’a
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army troops struck heavy blows at the Takfiri terrorists in the province of Dara’a on Tuesday, destroying their positions and killing a group of them.

The army destroyed terrorists’ vehicles and positions with all weapons and ammunition inside them in al-Abbasiyeh neighborhood, South al-Awqaf building and South of the electricity company in Dara’a al-Mahatta.

Meanwhile, the army destroyed a terrorists’ car, killing and injuring all terrorists on board North of al-Ghezlan farm in the Northwestern countryside of Dara’a.

On Monday, the Syrian army destroyed terrorists’ concentration centers in several farms across Dara’a province, killing scores of the Takfiri militants.

The Syrian army’s operation destroyed terrorists’ positions in the farms of al-Bitar, al-Ghizlan and Tafas in Dara’a on Monday, killing dozens of Takfiri militants.

Alson Monday, the Syrian army killed all members of a terrorist group in Dara’a al-Mahatta in Dara’a city and destroyed the militants’ heavy machineguns.

Syrian Forces Capture More Heights in Lattakia
TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian army, backed by the National Defense Forces, captured a hill and more heights in Lattakia on Tuesday as the army’s march on terrorists’ positions in the coastal province is gathering pace.

The Syrian forces regained control of al-Sheikh Mohammed hill and the 1281 R5 height in the Northeastern countryside of Lattakia.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Syrian army, backed by Russian warplanes, seized back another key heights in Lattakia. The Syrian army, backed by Russian airstrikes, regained control of al-Gharz height in the Northern countryside of Lattakia.

Also today, the Syrian army, backed by the popular defense groups, liberated more areas in the Northeastern countryside of Lattakia from the control of the Takfiri terrorists.

The Syrian forces won back Kitf al-Ghadr, al-Malouheh and al-Mirkashliyeh in the Northeastern countryside of Lattakia, a military source said. Sources also said that tens of Takfiri terrorists were killed and injured in the military operations.

Earlier, the Syrian Army alongside NDF troops won battles against the militant groups in at least eight fronts in Lattakia province, and restored security to vast territories.

The Syrian army and the NDF fighters seized full control over Al-Moroj, Jabal Beit Ahmad, Jabal al-Qrima, Juret al-Mai, Beit Marouf, Beit Najib Bshara, Ketf al-Ghanma and al-Rashwan in Lattakia province after defeating the militant groups and forcing them to leave the abovementioned areas, the sources said.

They further added that the terrorist groups left behind scores of dead or wounded members and destroyed military hardware and fled the battlefronts.

On Monday, the Syrian army took a wide stride in seizing back control over the Aleppo-Lattakia highway and is now very close to the town of al-Salma.

The Syrian troops won control of another 12 kilometers along the Aleppo-Lattakia highway after capturing al-Zawik mountain in the Southwestern parts of the province of Aleppo.

The army units are now very close to Salma town as they have pushed back Takfiri terrorists from more areas in the region.

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian fighter jets heavily bombed terrorists’ positions in the countryside of Homs on Tuesday.

The air raids destroyed terrorists’ concentration centers and vehicles in Southwestern Palmyra city (Tadmur) and in Jawalak and al-Ameriyeh in Homs countryside. There were no immediate reports of possible casualties among the terrorists.

Earlier on Tuesday, Syrian warplanes hit al-Nusra Front’s concentration centers heavily in Homs province with heavy bomb and missile attacks.

The al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front sustained heavy casualties after the Syrian bombers targeted their positions near Teir Ma’ala village. Nusra military vehicles and equipment also were seriously destroyed in the airstrike.

Senior Ahrar Al-Sham Commander Killed in Aleppo
TEHRAN (FNA)- A field commander of Ahrar al-Sham terrorist group was killed by the Syrian army in the Northern countryside of Aleppo. The Syrian troops killed Abu Hamza al-Baianoni, a field commander of Ahrar al-Sham terrorist group, in the vicinity of Bashkoy village in the Northern countryside of Aleppo on Monday.

On Monday, Syrian government forces destroyed positions of Takfiri militants in Dweir al-Zaitoun village in Aleppo province, killing scores of terrorists. Terrorists’ positions and vehicles were destroyed in Dweir al-Zaitoun village near Bashkoy town, 10 kilometers West of Aleppo.

Also on Monday, the Syrian army repelled a large-scale attack by the Takfiri militants on Bashkoy town in the Province of Aleppo.

According to the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television, the terrorists launched an attack on the town from four directions but the Syrian forces managed to thwart it.

Informed sources also said the Syrian army, National Defense Forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters repelled large-scale attacks by Takfiri terrorists on Bashkoy, killing and injuring scores of militants.

Over 300 Tajik ISIL Members Killed in Syria, Iraq
TEHRAN (FNA)- More than 300 Tajik nationals have been killed in Syria and Iraq fighting for the ISIL terrorist group, a senior official disclosed.

“Over 700 Tajiks were fighting in Syria and Iraq alongside the ISIL militant group, 300 of them have been killed,” senior member of Tajikistan’s National Security Committee Bahreddin Mohammedov told a press conference in Dushanbe on Tuesday.

He said that criminal proceedings will not be instituted against them if they return to Tajikistan.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control a shrinking part of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
