Thousands show for fundraiser to help veterans

Thousands of people showed their support and patriotism on Saturday while attending a benefit for veterans in Wadsworth.
Vendor booths, music and a chance to win a 2017 Chevy Camaro were part of Saturday’s Stand Up for Veterans event, along with hourly tours of Lake County’s Gold Pyramid House on Dilley’s Road, where the fundraiser was hosted to benefit the Midwest Veterans Closet.
Located at 2323 Green Bay Road, in North Chicago, the Midwest Veterans Closet is a non-profit organization that offers veterans a place where they can find clothing, furniture, housewares, food and computer access for job searches and creating resumes, all at no cost.
