Israeli Grapes of WrathThe mentioning of Peres’ “Yes and No” at the beginning was not random. He is involved in the current events.
Shimon Peres’ reputation within Israel is very different from the one he enjoys abroad. Those in the know, often qualify Lawrence of Poland as the “Shin Beth Candidate;” Yitzhak Rabin definition of Peres as “indefatigable conspirator” in his memoirs makes direct allusion to this disturbing allegation.
Those in the know, laugh at his Nobel Peace Prize. In April 1996, while serving as Prime Minister after the assassination of PM Yitzhak Rabin,⁺ Peres ordered Operation Grapes of Wrath. Despite its limited duration, this was an especially cruel attack, in which 500,000 Lebanese were displaced, and much of Southern Lebanon’s infrastructure was destroyed. It was the worst bombing of Lebanon in history.

Israel—Turkey relations are complex and plagued by personal interests. Hebrew media claimed recently that Turkey’s PM son has businesses with Israel. The two states have substantial military businesses between them that were tarnished by the Freedom Flotilla Affair; the most recent development is a lawsuit against Israel placed by Comoros. Following the ongoing thawing, Buffet completed the takeover of an Israeli company active in Turkey.A cultural bigot, our indefatigable conspirator was unlikely to restrict his soldiers to a single front. Was the Syria front blocked by the Russians? Let’s strengthen the activities in the other fronts! Regional destabilization is a worthy target for a compulsive conspirator. If successful the financial profits are huge.
Israel has more paths open in Turkey than in Syria. Its commercial, military and cultural relations allow it a full arsenal of manipulative tools; another Orwellian dream fulfilled by the Zionists. A few days ago, Turkish PM Erdogan blamed the ongoing protests in Istanbul’s Taksim Square on external, regional forces. That was not clear enough. He could be referring to Syria, the Kurds, or Israel.
Like with the issue opening this article, I was stuck. I couldn’t use his ambiguous statement. On June 13, Associated Press provided the answer to the riddle. In his answer to the European Parliament concern over “the disproportionate and excessive use of force by the Turkish police,” Erdogan said: “Those against whom we said ‘one minute’ are now delighted.”
“What’s wrong with you today,” an annoyed reader is thinking by now, “you usually shoot straight bullets! Turn on the fan, send away the fog of war! Shoot!”
OK, my antimissiles fan is on. Israeli President Shimon Peres wildly attacked Turkey during the 2009 Davos Economic Forum. Turkish PM Erdogan left the forum after Peres didn’t listen to his request to answer: “one minute,” Erdogan had said. In the indirect fashion favored by a byzantine Rising Ottoman, as annoying as today’s wandering bullets, Erdogan blamed Israel on what may become a “Turkish Spring.”⁺⁺

^** Four catchy phrases ruined Shimon Peres political life, relegating him to the simple formalities of Israel’s Presidency. “Yes and No” was coined by Sefy Rivlin, and cost Peres the 1981 and 1984 elections. A Peres puppet was shown answering “yes and no” to every question asked. Before that, in 1977, Yitzhak Rabin called Peres an “indefatigable conspirator.” Since this article is in English, I won’t analyze the brilliance of the Hebrew saying; in the feat of his lifetime, Rabin ruined Peres with three words. The other two phrases are related to Shimon Peres’ attempt in 1990 to replace Shamir’s government—of which he was Minister of Finances—by a narrow government led by Labor and supported by ultra-Orthodox parties. Peres failed, and Rabin hit again. He called the affair the “Dirty Trick” (literally “The Stinking Exercise”). In the popular protests that followed, the fourth slogan appeared: “Mush’hatim, nim’astem!” (roughly “corrupt people, we’re fed up with you!”). Rabin used it as the Labor slogan for the 1992 election, which he won. It was obvious that he included Peres in the culprits at whom the slogan was aimed.
⁺ The Shin Beth secret police admitted in Israeli Court having used Avishai Raviv (Agent Champagne) to Approach Rabin’s assassin, Yigal Amir. The latter passed a Shin Beth course on the use of small weapons. Rabin’s backside bodyguard is clearly seen in the Roni Kempler video (couldn’t have been filmed without the Shin Beth authorization; Mr. Kempler was within the “sterile area”) opening a path to the assassin. It is difficult to qualify the event other than “Shin Beth engineered.” If so, somebody in the political upper echelon must have signed the order. Peres, who was Rabin’s deputy at the time, is the most likely candidate for that. The reason? Rabin was about to sign a permanent agreement with the Palestinians, which was opposed by the security services. Sharon and Olmert suffered odd accidents while attempting the same. The first suffered an unexpected stroke, was given the wrong treatment, and his arrival to the hospital was inexplicably delayed (instead of using a helicopter, he was put in an ambulance and the vehicle was stuck in Jerusalem’s rush hour). Olmert was impeached on false allegation; later he was acquitted.
