US media is a smokescreen for Kiev: Political analyst
… by Jim W. Dean, VT Editor … with Press TV, Tehran
US media provides a smokescreen of invalidated claims to prop up Ukraine against Russia, a political analyst tells Press TV. You can watch the 4 minute new interview on Press TV here.
“Virtually everything we are getting in the Western media for Ukraine is all smoke screen,” Jim W. Dean, a political commentator from Atlanta said in an interview with Press TV on Friday.
“We have the US, EU and especially NATO piling charge after charge on Russia for aggression, virtually none of which has been validated by any evidence they put on the table.”
The remarks come following new charges against Russia made by Ukraine and US governments that range from firing artillery shells across the border into eastern Ukraine to accusing Moscow of sending troops into eastern Ukraine in support of pro-Russia activists battling Ukrainian forces. Moscow has denied the allegations.
Dean stated, “The public is being treated with contempt for these fake press releases that they give us and it just shows that they have no fear of any public retribution for any crazy thing that they say.”
Ukraine’s mainly Russian-speaking regions in the east have witnessed deadly clashes between pro-Russia forces and the Ukrainian army since Kiev launched military operations to silence the pro-Russians in mid-April.
Hundreds of people have been killed in the ongoing military campaign in Ukraine, which has also forced tens of thousands to escape to Russia, with the majority going to the Russian Rostov region.
