That 1861-1865 war: What would you call it?

I got the expected responses on my first Sesqui article on the 'correct' name to use for The War. My attempt to walk the tightrope successfully by using the three most common got me chewed up anyway :-)

Gilad Atzmon: The Shekel Has Dropped

14
A few days ago, I published a short piece about a BBC global poll gauging attitudes towards various countries worldwide. In the poll, Israel came pretty much at the bottom. The world seems to dislike the Jewish State, and this is not a big surprise.

ARAB UPRISINGS: Time to Quit Playing al Qaeda’s Card

6
The Arab uprisings have opened all the hidden doors and secret chambers in the Middle East only to find inside not Osama Bin Laden nor WMD but decades of frustrations and broken dreams, looted Arab fortunes, terrorizing police states, Ghettos and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, governments with terrorist strategies mistaken for moderate regimes and traitorous west backed-dictators in power who won’t allow a chance for a democratic civil society in the Arab world nor stand up against Israel in its aggression and humiliation to the Palestinians Arabs and its daily grab of the Arabic land

Letter to William Hague – Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Israel and The Law

2
“We got ourselves into a bit of a mess because of a legal anomaly that needs to be fixed. A legal amendment to the law has been introduced, he said, and is working its way through the parliamentary process. “All three major political parties support the change.” Gould was confident that the amendment would pass into law “in months not years.”

Luftwaffe Over New York, a WW2 Secret

57
On August 27th 1943, a German Luftwaffe long-range photo reconnaissance bomber, a Junkers Ju-390 took off from its base in Norway and flew out across the Atlantic Ocean. Among its four man crew was a brave and daring woman Anna Kreisling, the ‘White Wolf of the Luftwaffe’. A nickname she had acquired because of her frost blonde hair and icy blue eyes. Anna was one of the top pilots in Germany and even though she was only the co-pilot on this mission, her flying ability was crucial to its success.

More Than 50% of U.S. Senate to Attend AIPAC POLICY CONFERENCE Celebrating Sending U.S....

14
On May 22-24, the pro-Israel America conference from AIPAC is coming to Washington, D.C. Will you be there? You gotta know that the U.S. Congress will be. They must go as their hands will be out taking cash bribes with their blackened hearts spilling with no shame as they send our billions earned by the sweat of each American to a land far far away that has no consequence to the everyday welfare of Americans.

9/11 Sounds from the Ground

4
One of the most extraordinary aspects of the entire 9/11 tragedy is the extent to which real-time reports from what came to be known as "Ground Zero" at the World Trade Center of secondary explosions and planted devices disappeared from the public discussion and the record almost immediately, never to resurface in any detail in the mainstream media or the 9/11 Commission Report. All one heard officially was the tale of 19 Arabs on 4 planes, solely and completely responsible for all of the death & destruction on that day.

26/11 Revisited: Raymond Davis and a Travesty of Justice

10
The events of November 26th, 2008 will forever live in infamy. The terror attacks perpetrated against the Indian city of Mumbai shook the South Asia subcontinent to its core, leaving 195 confirmed dead and at least 295 other innocents wounded (1). The terror was said to be manufactured in Pakistan, the self-declared enemy of India, “the world’s largest democracy.” It was carried out by expertly trained “Jihadi terrorists” as per the direction of Pakistani intelligence and elements within the Pakistani government. This delusional fallacy however, is devoid of any basis in reality and nothing more than a concoction of the vitriol-spewing institution known as the mainstream media.

Today has been a sad day but the battle is not over! If the VSO's would express themselves in unison and if the veterans and civilians continue the battle for a few more days maybe the Representative of WW1 will lay in honor in the Capitol Rotunda.

The GOP Doesn’t Want to Govern – They Want to Rule

23
Unfortunately, politics is much like religion - no matter how much evidence is brought to bear that a person’s preacher is a hypocrite, a crook, and a pedophile, many of the people in the church will refuse to believe their lying eyes, because it’s not what they want to see.

The LAST Battle of WW1 is Being Waged NOW

5
Below is the latest support issued by a person of note. WE here at VT are astonished that the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader are blocking this honor from occuring. We wonder where are all the Veterans' Sevice Organizations on this issue. It seems they are strangely quiet on this issue. Where are their statements for the record. Will they be there for the last WW2, Korean War, or Vietnam Veteran? It is the end of time to recognize each of the veterans that served in WW1. Frank Buckles is just a representative of all the WW1 veterans, your grand parents, or great grand parent. But it is our last chance to remember their legacy! To remember the war that was to end all wars.

This data could prove helpful to health care providers, medical researchers, and the veterans and their families in being proactive in their health concerns.

Fundamental difference between a veteran’s and a civilian’s PTSD

11
First let me say that being right does no good if no one listens. Too many years ago, I noticed a difference between civilian survivors and participants. By that I mean, law enforcement and military personnel. There is one kind of PTSD survivors experience after a crime, natural disaster, accidents and abuse but there is another type when people are part of the traumatic event itself. Then there is the type after violence was used in response coupled with the constant threat of more events.

Pentagon Torture of Manning Recalls Stalin Era Abuses

11
The United States of America is in the process of slowly and deliberately destroying a human being before the eyes of the world. All of President Obama's posturing about the conduct of dictator Colonel Muammar el-Qaddafi of Libya will not expunge his own calculated cruelty in allowing his Pentagon to continue the degrading and dehumanizing punishments being inflicted on PFC Bradley Manning, the 23-year-old Army intelligence specialist accused of leaking hundreds of thousands of files to WikiLeaks. AP reports Manning has now been charged with “aiding the enemy,” a crime that can bring the death penalty or life in prison.

The Grievous Return of Henry Kissinger – An Analysis

35
Henry Kissinger was President Richard Nixon’s National Security Advisor and then Secretary of State. He also held the latter position under President Gerald Ford. While it would be unfair to characterize him as someone who never gave a piece of good advice (he did encourage Nixon to engage in Detente with the Soviet Union), his record weighs heavily on the side of unwise counsel. As we will see he is back in exactly that role, plying bad advice that, in this case, could further erode America’s already messed up intelligence agencies.
