For years, the Old Veterans Guard has been calling for an emergency tented shelter encampment in Los Angeles for homeless Veterans on the grounds of the largest VA the nation. Los Angeles is our nation's capital for homeless Veterans.

In 1975, the fall of Saigon brought an end to the Vietnam War in Southeast Asia while our U.S. government generously welcomed more than 50,000 Vietnamese Refugees onto American soil in Southern California by sheltering, clothing and feeding them.

To defend two Defendants, (one who is already a Federal criminal - Donna Beiter), to prevent a responsible solution for ending Veteran homelessness that was already resolved 123 years ago with the Deed and Charitable Trust of 1888.

Over the past few months, politicians and veterans groups have filed lawsuits against the Department of Veterans Affairs to force it to provide needed housing for homeless veterans.

FOR CENTURIES, nations have waged war over land ownership and territory boundaries. After America’s triumphant victory in the Revolutionary War, the United States Government appreciatively awarded personal land ownership to those who sacrificed on behalf of our new Nation.

At Sunday's Veterans Press Conference, Rusty Rustan, a disabled Vietnam War Veteran from Orange County, spoke on behalf of Paralyzed Veterans Association and delivered a powerful message regarding Veterans suffering from PTSD and quoted Major General Smedley Butler, a World War I hero and two-time recipient of the Medal of Honor.

The office staff has not come to the aid of a homeless Female Veteran last weekend who was denied shelter and care at the Los Angels VA.

On March 16, 2010, the ACLU of Southern California filed a lawsuit against Donna Beiter, executive director of the VA Greater Los Angeles healthcare system, along with her chief of police, Ronald Mathis, for Viewpoint Discrimination (censorship) after they ordered the VA police to issue false arrest citations against me, and removed the American Flag during our Sunday Rally protests.

Every day, 18 Veterans commit suicide -- that's more than 6,500 a year, and more than twice the number who were killed during the September 11 attack ten years ago.

This past week a homeless Female Veteran was denied shelter and care at the West Los Angeles VA and forced to live for five days outside the entry gate to the National Veterans Home.

It's 9-11 weekend and we're honoring our Troops and Veterans who served over the past decade. BS! What a disgrace our government has become, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Once again, the West Los Angeles VA bureaucrats have suppressed a major crime. This time a Veteran was murdered on Veterans sacred land.

The real issue is with the Legion itself. It had a choice, it could side with homeless veterans and the ACLU or with the wealthy and powerful homeowner association and developer group that sits in the middle of one of the nation's most powerful political machines.

There are 10,000 members of the American Legion in Los Angeles County and 20,000 homeless Veterans in Los Angeles County. Outnumbered 2-to-1, the American Legion still chooses to side with VA land policies that keep our homeless and disadvantaged Veterans from living in their rightful and legal “Home.”

I always admired the American Legion while growing up on a farm in central Indiana. Maybe it was just the good old Hoosier upbringing and patriotism of Legionnaires, but they were always admired and considered honorable Veterans and Citizens.
