He should have said, "Retaliation has been accomplished." A former professor of constitutional law should know the difference between those two concepts. The word "justice" implies an act of applying or upholding the law.

Sources tell us that the "lifelines" that kept what has been identified as Osama bin Laden safe inside Pakistan were operated under the supervision of CIA operative Raymond Davis. There were two safehouses in Abbottabad, one for "bin Laden," the other for the CIA. We are told that this explains why there was no Al Qaeda security detail. The CIA was in charge of that.

Unmanned drones were first used by the US military in Kosovo and Bosnia Herzegovina for surveillance purpose. Currently drones are being employed against combatant civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia. Unmanned drones are supplementing aerial attacks by jets and gunship helicopters and cruise missiles. Prof Marc W. Harold writes in his article that future US wars in third world will involve massive drones to police territory. It will employ local satrap forces, like Karzai forces, and once the territory is pacified sufficiently, it will deploy government-ready-to-rule kits.

Here’s my two-penneth; I agree that attempting to discuss politics based on ethnic or religious [israel-and-the-clash-of-civilisations] distinctions is usually misguided (although the various groups which constitute the ‘Israel Lobby’ are almost totally motivated by ethnic and religious based ideologies and imperatives). But it gets more tricky when it comes to analyzing the interface between states. I think we do need to recognize that the U.S. and Israel are two different, autonomous, sovereign states whose interests often differ markedly in the Middle East. It is commonly held in international relations theory that states act in their own interests.

I wonder if the president has considered the fact that Cheney just might be trying to get him to make the same kind of mistake in Afghanistan that the Bush Administration made in Iraq in order to take the Iraq issue off the table for the 2012 election? If during the 2012 campaign America is bogged down in Afghanistan with the useless death of thousands of U.S. troops, all of a sudden, Bush, Cheney, and the GOP won't look all that bad. CIA contractor Raymond Davis was released by Punjab officials after a reported deal was negotiated with the families of the two men he was accused of murdering. Davis was scheduled to be indicted for murder charges today. Security forces picked up the families last night.
